Venus retrograde begins the month with a powerful invitation to reassess. Relationships may bring old patterns to the surface. Financial decisions may require another look. Our desires may change, or we may admit that something we have been pursuing no longer holds the same value.

MERCURY ENTERS ITS RETROGRADE SHADOW OCTOBER 4

5°02' Scorpio

Mercury begins the journey that will take it retrograde on October 24. Pay attention to conversations and information that appear from October 4 to October 24. Something you hear, discuss or decide in this period may need to be revisited later. This is important for financial matters, agreements and emotionally sensitive conversations.

PLUTO STATIONS DIRECT OCTOBER 15

3°04' Aquarius

Pluto's change of direction can bring something that has been developing internally closer to the surface. You may recognize where an old structure, habit or power dynamic is no longer sustainable. Transformation doesn't always arrive as a dramatic event.

MERCURY RETROGRADE OCTOBER 24

20°58' Scorpio

By the end of the month, Mercury joins Venus in retrograde motion. Communication becomes more reflective. Information may need verification, plans may change, and conversations that seemed finished may reopen. With Mercury retrograde in Scorpio, don't be afraid to ask another question.

🌑 OCTOBER LUNATIONS

October 10 New Moon at 17°21' Libra

The Libra New Moon highlights partnership, diplomacy, beauty and fairness. It offers a chance to plant a new seed in the way we relate, but Venus, the ruler of Libra, is retrograde in Scorpio. If you seek harmony, look at what you haven't said and what it takes to achieve it.

This lunation supports new intentions around collaboration and mutual respect, as long as those intentions are grounded in reality. If you are renegotiating an agreement, define what fairness looks like in practice. Who decides? Who contributes? Who carries the invisible work? A beautiful agreement should also be functional.

The most affected will be cardinal signs: Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn, and anyone with natal placements between 14° and 20° in those signs.

October 26 Full Moon at 2° 45' Taurus

The Taurus Full Moon brings us back to the body, the budget and the ground we stand on. With the Sun in Scorpio and Pluto involved, emotions may be intense, but Taurus asks a simple question: what is sustainable?

Something may reach a point of culmination around security, finances, possessions, self-worth or a long-standing attachment. Resist the urge to force an outcome just because the feelings are loud. Stability is built through consistent choices.

The most affected will be fixed signs: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius, and anyone with natal placements between 0° and 5° in those signs.

OCTOBER 23 SUN ENTERS SCORPIO

The Sun's move into Scorpio changes the atmosphere. Scorpio wants to understand what is underneath the surface. Scorpio season is excellent for research, investigation, psychology, astrology and any work that requires concentration and emotional honesty. We may become less interested in appearances and more interested in what is true.

OCTOBER 23 JUNO ENTERS AQUARIUS

Juno, associated with partnership and commitment, enters Aquarius. This shift can change how we understand what partnership needs to look like. Commitment doesn't mean doing everything the traditional way. For some relationships, greater freedom and individuality can create greater strength.

THE BIGGER MESSAGE OF OCTOBER

As someone who spends part of my professional life working with numbers and financial data, I am interested in what can be measured. Still, astrology reminds me that not everything important fits into a spreadsheet.

Venus retrograde is a perfect example. We can count what we spend, how often someone calls, or how much work we contribute. But the deeper questions are qualitative: Do I feel valued? Is this exchange fair? Am I investing in what I want, or in what I once wanted?

Scorpio brings attention to what is shared: intimacy, debts, secrets, loyalties, emotional labour and financial entanglements. Libra highlights the agreement itself: balance, reciprocity, diplomacy, and the terms by which two people meet. October moves between these signs as if it is reviewing both the contract and the fine print.

VENUS RETROGRADE AS A REVIEW, NOT AN ENDING

From October 3 until November 13, Venus retraces part of her path through Scorpio and Libra. This does not mean every relationship will end or every financial choice will go wrong. Retrogrades bring our attention back. They reveal where values have changed, where a pattern is repeating, or where the arrangement no longer fits the people involved.

• In relationships: Notice whether honesty and harmony are working together, or whether one has been sacrificed for the other.
• With money: Review shared expenses, subscriptions, debts, pricing and the difference between desire and value.
• In creative work: Return to an idea that still has life in it, but update the form so it reflects who you are now.
• With self-worth: Pay attention to where you over-prove, over-give, or accept less because asking feels uncomfortable.

A person or subject from the past may return, but return does not mean reunion. Sometimes the past reappears so we can respond differently. Let the new information change the pattern, not restart it.

October may bring intense emotions, old triggers and deeper realizations. Give yourself time. Listen with attention. Ask another question. Let the story reveal itself before deciding what it means. When something feels urgent this month, give it a second pass. Separate the fact from the fear, the agreement from the assumption, and the present situation from the old story it activates.

• Before a difficult conversation: Write down what was said and what you interpreted.
• Before a large purchase or commitment: Check the numbers, the terms and the reason you want it now.
• Before reopening an old door: Ask what is different, not familiar.
• Before sending the message: Save it, reread it and make sure your words match your intention.
