July 2026 at a glance

Happy Summer!

July will be a make-or-break month, marked by many interruptions, high intensity, and instability. Mercury will remain retrograde until July 23rd, clearing its shadow on August 7th. Postpone any long-term decision-making until then, because at this point, our emotional state is influencing our thinking. Neptune goes retrograde on July 7th. We will experience retrograde Neptune in Aries for the first time in our lives, looking back to the original dream and vision of who we truly want to become. Saturn joins them in retrograde motion on July 26th. Time to revise our structures and foundations for the future - are we on the right path? It's time to course correct.

On July 14th, the New Moon at 21°59' Cancer is conjunct Mercury retrograde in Cancer. The Moon is out of bounds. untamed and overly sensitive. Although New Moons usually bring fresh energy, this one is still dealing with the past—a feeling we can't start over if we carry old baggage. Try not to take things too personally and focus on self-care and self-discovery. At this time, Neptune and Pluto make a Yod formation with Venus in Virgo as the apex—a sense of not understanding and a need to adjust how we relate to others. The most affected will be all cardinal signs: Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn, and all of you with natal placements between 19°-25° of those signs.

On July 29th, the Full Moon is at 6°30' Aquarius. The Moon is conjunct Pluto and Juno, and the Sun is conjunct Jupiter. Jupiter-Pluto opposition will amplify everything from egos to rebirths. Challenging existing beliefs and transforming them - fundamentalism vs. critical thinking. Revelations may be connected to wealth distribution and societal change, inviting us to participate in creating the new world. This lunation is part of the lunar gestation family, which began on the New Moon on January 29th, 2025. Events of that new Moon might come up on this lunation. The most affected will be all fixed signs: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius, and all of you with natal placements between 3° and 9° of those signs.

1. All outer planets are extremely dynamic this month, bringing a collective shift. Pluto in Aquarius will be active on July 5th - trine to Mars in Gemini, July 18th - trine to Uranus in Gemini, July 20th - opposition to Jupiter in Leo, July 25th - sextile to Neptune in Aries, and July 27th - opposition to the Sun in Leo. Powerful contacts between outer planets, all on air and fire elements, suggest a radical power dynamic shift and changes that will shift our world into a new dimension. Pluto destroys before he rebuilds; have that in mind.
2. Neptune in Aries is retrograde most of the month but still very active. He will sextile Mars on July 4th, sextile Uranus on July 15th, trine Jupiter on July 20th, sextile Pluto on July 25th, and trine the Sun on July 27th. Neptune's favorable aspects to other planets bring our vision and dreams for the future to the forefront, not only as a collective but also as individuals.
3. Uranus in Gemini is the most active planet of the month, with conjunction to Mars on July 4th, square to Venus on July 13th, sextile to Neptune on July 15th, trine to Pluto on July 18th, sextile to Jupiter on July 21st, and sextile to the Sun on July 27th. Although he will bring positive changes to society as a whole, on a personal level, we might feel them in a more disruptive, unstable way. Prepare for the unpredictable, fast movements of things. Uranus is here to wake us up and shake our stale habits.
4. Saturn is relatively quiet and slowing down as it goes retrograde at the end of the month. He will square the Sun on July 6th; don't get discouraged at this moment. On July 19th, a sextile to Mars in Gemini offers many opportunities for achievements and results. Take them on, and get that fresh idea into a plan of action.
5. Jupiter is the main actor this month now that he is in Leo. Everything he touches will be with a roar and overconfidence. The tension builds until July 20th, when he opposes Pluto—challenging existing belief systems with the new information it reveals. We will feel this on the collective and on the personal level - transformation and rebirth of new beliefs. It can be quite fundamentalistic and confrontational - my truth is the only truth. The next day, on July 21st, he sextiles Uranus in Gemini - growth opportunities based on new information or data we receive. On July 29th, we have Sun Jupiter Cazmi at 6°24' Leo minutes before the Full Moon. A new one-year cycle starts with the big bang! Somebody's false egos will be deflated, unwavering confidence, and the pedestals we put people on as society goes through a massive change.
6. Mars in Gemini will hit a few spots this month - the conjunction with Uranus on July 4th is full of unpredictable actions, revolutionary moves, lots of arguments and discussions without thinking first. Trine with Pluto follows on the next day, July 5th, helping the situation with profound, powerful moves toward the future. Sextile to Saturn on July 19th is full of opportunities for acting on new, fresh ideas. Finally, a square with Venus in Virgo on July 29th, on the Full Moon, might bring anxiety and challenges within our relationships.
7. Venus enters Virgo on July 9th, opposing the North Node and conjucting the South Node, making the last aspect to the lunar nodes before they move to Aquarius -Leo. Last chance to let go of criticism, worry, anxiety, and control in our everyday lives. On July 13th, square to Uranus in Gemini suggests mental challenges in our relationships, and a need to be free from others' opinions. A lovely sextile with Mercury in Cancer, now direct on July 24th, presents a few days for caring conversations and being there for others in a supportive way. Square with Mars in Gemini on July 29th, on the Full Moon, as I mentioned already, confronts us with our own insecurities and challenges our mental connections within our relationships.
8. Mercury in Cancer, mostly retrograde this month, is not as active as he loves to be. On July 12th, there is a Mercury retrograde Cazimi - we are not done with the past yet, get rid of the excess baggage you have been carrying for a long time. Venus in Virgo, Mercury in Cancer, in a sextile on July 24th, brings a nice break from the tension around us. Find someone you feel safe talking to.
9. Leo season officially starts on July 22nd with the Sun's ingress into Leo. Things are getting heated up, literally and metaphorically. The heat is on - an announcement of the upcoming eclipse season in August, as lunar nodes change signs just a few days later on July 26th. They will reside in Aquarius (North Node) and Leo (South Node) until March 26th, 2028. We are moving towards community, environment, and human rights, leaving behind royalty, celebrities, and autocracy. On a global level, evolution involves decentering the ego, cultivating friendships, teamwork, and participation in movements or networks that serve something larger than the self.

July is a turning point in human history. The activation of air and fire of the outer planets, along with the shift of the lunar nodes, brings a major change in our consciousness and society. How we navigate it is on all of us as individuals, but from this point on, we must think of the community and align with the bigger plan.
